A Study on Nurses´Attitude of AIDS

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to identify nurse’s attitude of AIDS. The subject were 42 women nurses who worked in hospital in Daejeon area. Data was collected from August, 2, 1994 to August 24,1994 by self-reporting with a questionnaire of 13 items developed by the researcher.
The results were as follows ;
1. Among the demographic data, the highest score were age range ; 35-45(57%), marriage state(61.9%), and junior college in
education level (50%).
2. It was shown that the nurse’s perception of infection risk of AIDS were not high.
3. The nurses in this study had a negative attitude toward AIDS patient care but had a positive attitude toward HIV antigen test.
